Show Me How To Paper Piece

This class is designed for beginning quilters and paper piecers as an introduction to paper piecing. Students will learn how to cut their fabric pieces to the correct size, how to sew them accurately to their foundation in an organized manner and how to join their blocks easily and accurately. As students learn this wonderful technique, they will be on their way to producing a small heart wall quilt, perfect for display or gift-giving. Everyone marvels at the accuracy that paper piecing produces for everyone from the simplest to the most intricate projects. Come and learn quickly and easily how to paper piece.

Supply List:

  • Book Required: Show Me How To Paper Piece
  • Carol Doak's Foundation Paper to take home to continue their paper experience.
  • Fabric-(The fabric and batting can easily be kitted by the shop as a convenience for the students.)
    • 1⁄4 yard light fabric for the background
    • 1⁄4 yard total of assorted contrasting fabrics for the hearts
    • 1⁄4 yard for border and binding
    • 15" x 15" square of low loft batting
    • 15" x 15" square of backing fabric
  • Sewing machine in good working order equipped with a size 90/14 needle.
  • Open-toe presser foot if you have one. If not, your standard foot will be OK.
  • Thread to match your fabrics and straight pins with a flat head
  • Rotary cutter, mat
  • 6" x 6" rotary ruler
  • 6" Add-A-Quarter Ruler
  • small pad of stick on notes and pencil to mark cut fabric piece locations
  • Small pressing mat and small iron
  • Small postcard or card stock approximately 4" x 6"


CLASS POLICY
1. Fees must be paid at time of registration.
2. Phone registrations taken with a credit card.
3. Refunds given only if we are notified at least 7 business days prior to class.
4. Minimum of 3 students per class. Class will be canceled if minimum is not met and a full refund will be given.
5. No children, babies, or guests in class.
6. You must obtain a supply list PRIOR to each class. Read it completely to see what supplies are necessary AND what preparation needs to be done.
7. Where required, please bring a sewing machine in good working order and that you are familiar with operating. Teachers will not spend
    class time learning your sewing machine.

** IF YOU CANNOT MAKE IT TO CLASS, YOU MUST CANCEL 7 BUSINESS DAYS IN ADVANCE IN ORDER TO RECEIVE A TRANSFER**
